Putting feet to the Word of God
Join us in ministry

Springwood Baptist is committed to being a missional presence in our community. In other words we want to serve others in the name of Jesus. Here are several ways you can join us as we minister to those around us.
Food Pantry: Our food pantry is open the third Saturday of each month from 9 am - 11 am. Volunteers are welcome and asked to arrive by 8 am to help setup! If you need assistance with food for your family, please come! Thanks to generous donations from our community and church family, we are also able to occasionally provide household items, school supplies, Thanksgiving turkey, and Christmas stockings depending on the season.
Orange Bag Collection: If you see shoppers in the local market carrying a reusable orange shopping bag that says Springwood Baptist, chances are they are picking up a few items to help our community with household items. Each quarter, we collect personal hygiene items and paper products that are then distributed through our food pantry as needed.
Deacon Ministry Teams: Our Deacons are not an administrative board. They are committed Christians who are here to serve. Listed below are the teams they head up - other church members take part in the action as well:

- Prayer Team: Promote prayer and prayer activities within the church, including the prayer chain and prayer walks
- Shut-In Visitation Team: Make regular visits to church members who are shut-ins at home or in nursing homes. Communion is also offered to anyone who wishes to participate.
- Bereavement Team: Prepare meals after funeral services for families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Volunteers organize the fellowship hall for the meal, prepare food, and then clean up afterwards.
- Outreach Team: Identify visitors to our church, have them fill out Visitor Cards, and then to make contact with them so that hopefully they will return. Additionally, contacts will be made with people who have not been in church for a while.
- Small Jobs Team: Works to identify specific construction & repair needs for people in the community and on our church property.
